Meet our Team
Owners Annie and Paul Wolter have been traveling together since their late-in-life marriage in 2012. Annie started Travel Escapades after her eighth trip to Europe convinced her how wonderful and enjoyable it would be to share her love of traveling with others.
Annie and Paul at Miniature Chateau Park in France
In 2023 Paul and Annie conducted their first tours to Loire Valley France and Bavaria Germany. They enjoy bringing the love of of traveling to their clients with Annie putting her knowledge of speaking French to work and Paul applying his German skills.
They continue to invite the curious to join Travel Escapades on a variety of trips to a myriad of destinations—whether domestic or international adventures—for the love of discovery. Their goals are to build memories and connections among small groups of people through engaging explorations that offer a bountiful number of experiences—from breathtaking treks through gorgeous landscapes to immersive cultural experiences.
Annie and Paul live in Baraboo Wisconsin with their 2 cats, Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitier, named from their first visit to the Chateau de Chenonceau in Loire Valley, France in 2015.
Kiersten Kobussen is a contracted tour planner and guide with Travel Escapades.
She is a passionate traveler who has explored 11 countries (and counting!), always seeking authentic experiences that connect her with the people, culture, and landscapes of each destination.
Kiersten at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland
Kiersten’s love for travel has taken her around the world, from studying International Business in Barcelona, Spain, to living and working in Cork, Ireland as a Marketing Executive for a local hotel. These experiences gave her the opportunity to immerse herself in new cultures, build lasting friendships, and discover destinations from a local perspective.
As a tour guide, her goal is to create more than just a vacation. She believes in slow, immersive travel: taking the time to enjoy spectacular landscapes, connect with local culture, savor incredible food, and make meaningful memories without feeling rushed from one place to the next.
During her year in Ireland, Kiersten met an Irishman named Karl, who is now her partner! Together, they explore hidden gems, scenic viewpoints, and local favorites through their travels.
